Welcome to These Poetic Realms
Welcome to the whimsy, to my mind storm,
this safe place where I dance us through
cyclones and hoedowns, sweat and stardust
trailing as we twirl together into the abyss.
I didn’t set out to be a poet, but poetry found me,
as Leonard Cohen suggests, in the evidence of a life
burning well. Through verse and catharsis, I journeyed
through a labyrinth of human sentiment
and into my lyrical life, anew.
